Next Fixtures! - On Wednesday 8th of September We will be playing South Normanton Athletic FC at: Exchem Sports Ground, Lees Lane, South Normanton, Derbyshire, DE55 2AD. It’s a 7:45pm kick off, so please be there by 6:45pm at the latest. It is on a grass pitch, so please bring appropriate footwear. The squad for this match will be: Che P, Mark Th, Aqeel G, Alex C, Paul W, Kieron P, Neal S, Chris P(c), Mike O, Aaron C, Omar M, Carl B and Seb C. |

Luke Wormall Is Doing A Charity Football Match! - On Friday 22nd October 2010, he will be attempting to break the current Guinness World Record of 42 hours and 5 minutes for the longest football match ever played. Our aim is to play for a total of 48 hours, with 36 players participating. We are doing this to raise money for breast cancer campaign and are hoping to raise in excess of £18,000. It is from 9am Friday 22nd - Sunday 24th 9pm, we are not aloud off the pitch till the finish time and we each have to raise over £500 pounds. I would greatly appreciate any contribution you could give me just click on the link and follow instructions. you would be helping a lot of people without having to actually do the match, so please make a donation and i will be very grateful. Penev Becomes Nottingham United President! - Following our successful pre-season tour of Bulgaria, the club can confirm that Bulgarian football legend Dimitar Penev agreed to become the club’s Honorary Life President. The man who led Bulgaria to the semi-finals of USA 94 and discovered such players as Hristo Stoichkov, Dimitar Berbatov and Stilian Petrov, will help strengthen our ties to professional football in Bulgaria and raise our profile here and abroad. Mr Penev will be attending several of our matches this year and will be the guest of honour at a club dinner in November. The club would like to thank Mr Penev for his hospitality in Bulgaria, attending most of our matches, arranging prestigious matches against CSKA Sofia legends and All-Star sides and presenting the team with the trophy in the Bulgarska Armiya Stadion and for inviting us to dinner with some of Bulgaria’s greatest football players. |

Bulgaria Tour 2010 A Success! - With the Bulgaria Tour 2010 now over, we can reflect on what was a superb tour and a truly amazing experience for everyone involved. We played high profile matches against professional clubs including, FC UNAK Sevlievo, FC Lulin, FC Septemvri and Conegliano FC. The highlight of the trip were a series of very high profile matches against Vitosha Bestrica FC, which featured the Bulgarian Prime Minister playing up front and then matches against the CSKA Sofia U19’s and against the CSKA Sofia team that knocked European Cup holders Nottingham Forest out of the European Cup in 1981. The tour was completed with a match against CSKA Sofia Legends team, which contained some of the greatest names in Bulgarian football history and was managed to a 2-0 victory by the legendary Dimitar Penev. We made the newspaper front pages and TV/Radio news in Bulgaria and the UK on a daily basis and had the time of our lives. |

A Huge Thanks To Bulgaria! - Nottingham United FC would like to give a huge thanks to everyone in Bulgaria that made our tour possible. To our sponsors LP SuperSport who provided us with our team bus, driver, arranged our fixtures and looked after us for the whole tour. To all the clubs that showed us great hospitality and treated us like royalty. To the Bulgarian Football Union for giving us permission to play 3 of our fixtures in the Bulgarska Armiya Stadion. To the Prime Minister Mr Borisov who invited us to play against his team, which was a wonderful experience and to the British Embassy that came to support us at our matches and offered their services. To CSKA Sofia and Mr Penev for arranging 3 amazing matches for us and treating us like VIP’s for the entire tour. This was an amazing experience for everyone involved and gave us memories that will last forever. It also allowed us to build strong links with professional football in Bulgaria and friendship between our 2 countries. A special mention also for Mr Palankov and Mr Bozhidarov for their friendship, hard work and commitment to Nottingham United FC. The club can now confirm that we will be returning next year for the Bulgaria Tour 2011 which will take place from July 21st to July 31st. More details will be published soon... |
